On behalf of Lincoln-Way Community High School District 210, I would like to welcome you to our annual marching band competition.

Today you will have the opportunity to watch and hear some of the finest marching bands in the state of Illinois. We appreciate that you have chosen to attend this wonderful event and share in our support of the fine arts at the high school level. Our district is committed to providing opportunities in order to maximize the academic and social growth of all students. We thank you for sharing this commitment with us.

I would like to extend a special thank you to all of our Lincoln-Way parent volunteers who were involved in the production of today's competition, and their ongoing dedication to our students. The event welcomes bands from throughout the area to highlight their exceptional talent and we are extremely excited to host you in our great community and facility. 

The Lincoln-Way Marching Band has a long and storied history of success because of our driven students and supportive community. The students demonstrate valuable lessons learned each year through outstanding performances, as well as in their team building and positive leadership skills that they contribute to the overall school culture.

We sincerely hope that you enjoy the performances of all the students and the more than twenty outstanding marching bands entered in the competition today. We would like to thank the Lincoln-Way Marching Arts Parent Alliance, the Lincoln-Way West Buildings & Grounds staff, and all the volunteers that help to make this event successful.

The Taft Eagles have participated in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington D.C., the Sugar Bowl parade and halftime show. Last year they debuted at the BOA Grand National Championships in Indianapolis. This year they will be participating in the BOA Super Regional in St. Louis, MO​.

In addition to a competitive marching band the Bremen H.S. Music Department offers students opportunities to perform in symphonic band, jazz ensemble, percussion ensemble, concert choir, Broadway at Bremen, spring musical, and mariachi band.  Bremen H.S. Bands and Choirs consistently earn 1st ratings at IHSA Music contests.  In 2022 the Bremen Pep Band was selected to be the official pep band of the IHSA Girls Basketball State Championships at Illinois State University.  This Thanksgiving the Bremen Marching Band will appear for the first time in the Chicago Thanksgiving Parade.  ​

The Batavia Marching Band is an all-volunteer marching band. The band has earned numerous awards and honors throughout the 15-year competitive history including two time consecutive finalists at the Illinois State Marching Band Championships and 2024 Class 4A Runner-Up. The Batavia Wind Symphony has performed throughout Illinois at Superstate at the University of Illinois, the Illinois Music Education Conference, the Western Illinois University Showcase of Bands, and the Illinois State Concert Band Festival. For the last seven years, the Batavia Bands host the Batavia Band Festival in February, which is a non-competitive concert band festival for non-top bands. 

The Batavia Marching Band wishes to thank the many students, families, parent volunteers, and patrons for supporting them throughout the marching band season and throughout their time in music in Batavia.​

The VJA Marching Band is a highly decorated performing ensemble at Andrew High School. Last year the band was undefeated in class 2A competition, was second place in class 5A at Illinois State University Marching Band Championships, and placed 3rd in finals competition. The Wind Symphony is a nationally decorated ensemble and the winter percussion ensemble was a 2024 WGI gold medlaist. The winter guard was a 2024 WGI semi-finalist.

The Marian Catholic High School Marching has a reputation as one of the finest high school band programs in the United States. The band has won its class at the Illinois State Marching Band Championships every year since 1980 and is a 22-time Bands of America National Class Champion. In 2023, the Marian Band was named the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Class A Champion. Marian concert bands have played at numerous state and national conventions, including three appearances at the Music for All National Concert Band Festival. In March of 2025, the band will travel to Walt Disney World to march at Magic Kingdom.​

The Plainfield Central High School Band has performed at BOA Regionals in Toledo and Indianapolis, and has been selected three times for performances at the National Concert Band Festival in addition to their six performances at the University of Illinois Super State Concert Band Festival.​

The Prospect Marching Knights have gained recognition with performances at local, state, and regional competitions. The PMK has also performed in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Rose Parade, the London New Year’s Parade, and various other local and national events. The Morton High School Marching Band is an 18-time ISU class 2A champion and was the ISU Grand Champion in 2022 and 2023. The band has been a consistent semi-finalist BOA Grand Nationals and was the BOA St. Louis Regional 2A champion in 2012 and 2023.
