We are so excited you are going to be in band next year!
Who is expected to audition?
- Students who wish to be considered for honors level band placement (Wind Ensemble) will need to complete an audition.
- If a student does not want to be considered for an honors level band class, then they do NOT need to audition, and should just sign up for band at the time of registration.
How do I audition?
- Download the music for your instrument by clicking the link below.
- Each Woodwind or Brass instrument has 1 (or 2) etude/excerpt to prepare as marked, as well as a set of scales (three lines).
- Percussionists are expected to prepare one snare and one mallet etude. Percussionists do not need to prepare scales.
- After practicing the music throughly, create a video (smart device, laptop, etc.) of yourself performing the scales and etude/excerpt . Make sure that both you and your instrument are visible in the video frame.
- Please put your campus, name, and instrument in the title of the video.
- If you do not have access to a device to create your video, contact your music teacher.
- Visit YouTube and create a free account. Upload the video to your YouTube account. Be sure to select "Unlisted" when you upload the video.
- Copy the link to your video into the audition submission (Google) form below.
